# Changelog Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/changelog Product updates and announcements Coming soon. # Components Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/features/components Add visualizations, notes and tables to dashboards Dashboards are collections of data visualizations like graphs, tables, numbers, and components like text blocks and headers. ## Creating and modifying components You can't edit or create components on mobile 1. With a dashboard open, scroll to the bottom of the page 2. Click the 'Add item' button, and select the type of component you'd like to create 3. By default, the new component is added to the end of the dashboard. The new component will be opened by default so that you can use the sidebar to edit its contents or title. ### Setting the contents The new component will be opened by default. You can also click the Pencil button that appears if you hover over the component (next to the drag handle). The types of data you can select depends on the type of visualization. For example, in a line graph, you'll only be able to select one dimension, but in a table can select multiple. * **Measures:** these are the numerical 'values' of the visualization, like sales, quantity or conversion percentage * **Dimensions:** these determine how the measures are broken down. In 'sales by product category', product category would be a dimension * **Title:** the label of the visualization ### Editing and moving components The move and edit buttons don't appear on mobile. Use a desktop instead. When hovering over a component in the dashboard, a movement button and edit button will appear in the top right corner. Drag and drop the component when the mouse is over the movement button. Click the edit button to open the sidebar menu on the right. ## Types of components There are many different components you can add to dashboards: | Type | Description | Measure | Dimension | | -------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------- | | **Line chart** | Time-series chart of a metric over time | Exactly one | Optional. Dimension values become different lines | | **Number** | Single number displayed as a KPI | Exactly one | None | | **Table** | Spreadsheet-like data table | As many as needed | As many as needed | | **Bar chart** | Vertical bar list, useful for showing a ranked list | Exactly one | As many as needed | | **Heading** | Header text to separate sections of the dashboard | N/A | N/A | | **Text** | Text to add notes to the dashboard | N/A | N/A | # Dashboards Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/features/dashboards Create and manage dashboards in retailQ ## Creating a new dashboard From the [dashboards](https://app.retail-q.com/dashboards) page (you need to be logged in): 1. It is also opened by default, so that you can give it a name and select measures or dimensions from the sidebar. The item will display information on how many measures or dimensions. ## Sharing a dashboard Each dashboard has a unique link. Copy the URL from the address bar of your browser to share it with any members of your organization. At the moment, you cannot share dashboards outside of your organization to protect your data security. # Filters Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/features/filters Use filters to drill-down on what matters Filters allow you to focus on specific segments of your business, like a store, product category, or customer group. Use component-level filters to apply different filters within the same dashboard, making it easy to isolate test and control groups and measure the impact of different initiatives in your business. ## Date filters All dashboards have a date filter which is applied to all components. The default value in a new dashboard is 'Last 7 days'. You can use date filter presets, like 'Last 7 days' or 'Month to date', or set a custom date range. Using a preset means the data will always stay up-to-date. If you set a custom date range, the date period is fixed and the dashboard's data will not update day-to-day Date ranges are always inclusive. ### Comparison period Dashboards also have an optional comparison period. Values for this period are compared to to the main date period to show increases/decreases over time. You can also select preset values: | Type | Description | | --------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **Previous period** | Immediately preceeding period of the same duration. | | **Last month** | Same dates of the previous month. For example, 3-8 October will be compared against 3-8 September. | | **Last month (same day of week)** | Same relative dates of the previous month. For example, if 3 October was the first Monday in October, it would be compared against the 5 days following the first Monday in September. | Comparison ranges are always inclusive. ## Non-date filters You can filter dashboards by any dimension column, like product category, store, customer segment, or order ID. 1. Press the 'Add filter' button next to the date filters 2. Select the dimension you'd like to filter by 3. Select the values you'd like to include. You may need to wait a few seconds for the possible values to load. 4. Press apply and the filtered data will reload. ## Component filters To add a component-level filter, hover over the component and press the edit button (pencil icon) to open the sidebar. In the sidebar filter section, you can select the dimensions you'd like to filter by just like you would for a dashboard filter. Component-level filters override dashboard filters. For example, if you filter the dashboard to Product Category 'Shirts', and add a component filter to Product Category 'Jeans', the component will only show data for Jeans. Other components will still show only Shirts data. ### Experiment tracking using filters You can use this to track the performance of different experiments or initiatives. For example, you can track the launch of a new store versus other stores: 1. Create a line chart of average net sales (or whatever metric you'd like to compare) 2. Add a filter for Store, and select the previous stores 3. Copy the component, but change the filter to the new store only Now, you'll see the charts side-by-side, making it easy to compare the sales performance of the new store against the previous stores. You can use this approach to track almost anything: changes in product descriptions or price, new marketing initiatives or discount codes, or any other dimension you'd like to track. Contact [support@retail-q.com](mailto:support@retail-q.com) if you any expert advice on how to set up experiment tracking effectively. # Templates Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/features/templates Connect your Shopify store to retailQ ## Creating a dashboard from a template We've created templates to get you started quickly and help you learn about new types of analysis which could help your store. Organization members cannot add other members. Speak to your organization admin for access. ## Adding new members It's easy to add team members in retailQ. Navigate to Settings > Organization Click the 'Add member' button Enter the email address(es) of your team members Press Save Each new team member will receive an email invitation that will expire in 7 days To accept the invitation, press the link in the email. Please check spam if you do not see the invitation within a few minutes. Users will be directed to verify their email and create an account. The user must use the email which was invited. If a user needs to use a different email, revoke the initial invitation and send a new one to the new email. ## Creating new admins **Warning:** Giving a user admin permissions means that they can add other people to your organization (giving them access to your data), and they can provide/revoke admin permissions from other members. Proceed with care! To create a new admin, first follow the instructions above to create a member account for them. Then, in Settings > Organization, you should see a dropdown option to change their role to from member to admin: \[image here] ## Role-based access permissions Setting up more complex access permissions, including which data different members have access to, is a feature restricted to customers on the Enterprise plan. Please contact support to set this up. # Introduction Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/index retailQ is an analytics platform that connects your data across commerce platforms like Shopify or Square, ad platforms like Google Ads or Meta, and web analytics from Google Analytics. ## What makes retailQ different? * **No limits.** Individual apps, like Shopify and Google Analytics, are limited in what they let you do. For example, in Shopify you can only have one dashboard. * **No set up.** Once you connect retailQ to your data, we sync it, create 200+ metrics and dimensions, and allow you to start getting insights immediately. Other tools require your data team to manually connect your data and build all the metrics manually * **Cross-platform insights.** In retailQ you can easily combine data from multiple sources, such as customer acquisition cost (CAC) or Return On Ad Spend (ROAS). * **Multi-store support.** Combine data across platforms, accounts or stores and see it all in one place. Some of our customers have connected over 30 different Shopify stores, which they previously managed separately ## Getting started ### Demo We suggest you book a demo. Create your first dashboard # Google Analytics Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/integrations/google-analytics Connect Google Analytics properties to retailQ ## Installation We use the Google Analytics BigQuery connector to get access to events tracked by GA4. This gives you detailed access to how your site performs and how your customers interact with it. Analytics events are only available to us from the date you install the connector. You will need admin permissions for the Google Analytics property to install this connector. Log in to your [Google Analytics account](https://analytics.google.com). [Click here](https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/#/?pagename=admin-integrations-big-query\&utm_source=gahc\&utm_medium=dlinks) or navigate to 'Admin' > 'Product Links' > 'BigQuery Links' in the left-hand menu. Click '**Next**'. Image highlighting the location of the 'Data location' field on the page In the 'Event Data' section, select '**Daily**' and '**Streaming (best-effort)**'. In the 'User Data' section, select '**Daily**'. Click '**Next**'. Image highlighting the location of the 'Data location' field on the page Google Analytics should not contain PII data. It does include any PII data by default, and Google policies mandate that you should not send any PII data to GA4 via custom events or dimensions. Click '**Submit**'. After a short delay, you should see confirmation that the link was created. Successfully created the link It will take at least 24 hours for Google to start streaming data to retailQ, so if you don't see your data after 36 hours, please [contact support](/support). ## Troubleshooting Even if you have over 1 million daily events, we should receive most of them. Google sends events during the day, which are unlimited. It also sends events at the end of each day, which is limited to 1 million events if you have not upgraded to a GA360 plan. If you see a warning that you will exceed the events threshold, [contact support](/support) and we can advise you. We can use a different, less accurate and less granular method to load your data. Please [contact support](/support) and we can advise you, or connect to your existing BigQuery dataset directly. # Shopify Source: https://docs.retail-q.com/integrations/shopify Connect one or more Shopify stores to retailQ You can add one or more Shopify stores to retailQ via our [Shopify App](https://apps.shopify.com/retailq).
